El servicio de streaming de video Netflix, apelará ante las autoriodades regulatorias de EE.UU contra el acuerdo de compra de AT&T y DirecTV ya que podría atentar, a su juicio, contra sus intereses y la libre competencia.
Los directivos de Netflix están manteniendo estos días reuniones con representantes de la Federal Communications Comitee (FCC) estadounidense para tantear la posición del regulador a este respecto.
A juicio de Netflix, el acuerdo de compra dejaría a AT&T como proveedor privilegiado de banda ancha dándole capacidad para dañar a los distribuidores de video online.
AT&T había ofertado 49.000 millones de dólares por las operaciones del servicio de televisión satelital DirecTV, dando paso así al nacimiento de un gigante de las telecomunicaciones.
Hace apenas una semana, Comcast había desistido del acuerdo por entender que se adentraría en un escenario hostil que generaría muchos conflictos.
