Globo entrusts Mediapro with the international sale of Brazilian football
The agreement includes a minimum of 153 matches per year, summaries of both competitions and sports programs.
Mediapro has reached an agreement with Rede Globo, the main audiovisual platform in Brazil, the second largest in the world and a benchmark on the American continent, for the international sale of the audiovisual rights of Brazilian football.
Globo owns the audiovisual rights to Brazilian football and has entrusted Mediapro with its international distribution. The agreement includes the Brazilian Serie A Club Championship (the Brazilian League) and the São Paulo State League, both championships in Brazil's first division, until 2019. The operation includes the sale of audiovisual rights in the main markets: Europe and Asia.
Globo reserves the American continent where it directly exploits these rights. The agreement includes a minimum of 153 matches per year, summaries of both competitions and programs such as Footbrazil for all audiovisual platforms.
The Brazilian Serie A Club Championship is the best league in South America and the one that arouses the greatest international expectation. Brazil is also a benchmark as a source of the best soccer players and the Brazilian soccer team is the only one that holds the title of five-time world champion.
