CMTV in Portugal acquires the new Connexia intercom platform from AEQ Kroma
In the recent expansion of its facilities, the Portuguese newspaper Correio da Manhã television implements this new intercom concept as a global audio solution.
Correio da Manhã Tv (CMTV), the television of the newspaper of the same name belonging to Cofina, has adopted the new Conexia intercom platform of AEQ Chrome.
Initially, this television had a Kroma intercom composed of a TH5000 matrix with TP4000 series panels and BP5000 series Wi-Fi beltpacks.
Coinciding with the recent expansion of its facilities, CMTV has acquired the new Conexia intercom platform, thus replacing the TH 5000 matrix. CMTV intends to use Conexia not only as a normal intercom system, but also as a global audio solution, thanks to its broadcast features and its 20Hz-20KHz audio quality.
The system rests on a TM8000 master and an associated BC2000D audio matrix with the capacity to manage up to 1024x1024 crossover points, fully modular and with 100% redundancy. It allows intercom and broadcast audio sources with a sampling frequency of 48KHz@24bits to be integrated into the same matrix. These technical characteristics allow CMTV to use, on the same Conexia platform, an intercom matrix and an audio matrix simultaneously.
Future-proof investment
The fact that Conexia is compatible with all Kroma intercom panels currently in service has allowed the reuse of the old TH-5000 matrix panels, the two analogue telephone interfaces, one ISDN and three GSM in this installation.
Finally, the CMTV update should highlight the replacement of the traditional beltpack within Conexia with virtual panels compatible for the Android or IOS platform. We are working on a WiFi access point management system, which allows you to establish “roaming” to move with the terminals throughout the building, without interruptions in communication.
The entire installation has been coordinated by CMTV's technical managers, Ricardo Lima and Ricardo Matias, in collaboration with the central technical services of AEQ Kroma in Madrid led by chief engineer Mario Rodríguez.
Correio da Manhã launched its channel in March 2013. Available on the Meo platform, CMTV is also present in Angola and Mozambique on their respective pay television platforms. In addition to these two Portuguese-speaking countries, the Cofina group channel aims, according to its managers, to be present “where there are Portuguese communities” including countries such as France, Luxembourg, Canada, Newark (United States), among others.
