JVC launches new DTV G2 series of professional monitors

The new DTV G2 Series is made up of 4 models: 2 of 16.5”, one of them with EBU specifications close to Grade I, and another 2 models of 21.5 and 24 inches, with EBU Class II compliance, even improving the color space, gamma and gradation sections.

Anticipated in the last IBC, JVC It is now beginning the marketing of its new range of DTV G2 professional monitors. It is made up of 4 models: 2 of 16.5", one of them with EBU specifications close to Grade I (DT-V17G25), and another 2 models of 24 and 21.5 inches, with EBU Class II compliance, even surpassing it in the sections of color space, gamma and gradation.

Designed with the reproduction of the entire color spectrum in mind for HD images of the highest quality and precision, the DT-V24G2 (24”) and DT-V17G25 (16.5”) models use a 10-bit IPS type LCD panel with 10-bit video signal processing, which allows the reproduction of gradation and shades of gray that are completely improved compared to previous models. The DT-V17G2 (16.5”) and DT-V21G2 (21.5”) models also have 10-bit signal processing, although they use an LCD panel with 8-bit color depth. The resolution of all monitors is 1920x1080 points, except for the DT-V24G2 model, which incorporates a 1920x1200 WUXGA panel.

The monitors feature extremely wide viewing angles, an excellent level of chromatic aberration, a contrast ratio of 1,500:1 and a brightness level of 300/450 cd/m2 (depending on the model), thanks to a reliable and efficient LED backlight system.

The DTV G2 monitors incorporate waveform monitor, vectorscope, histogram, CT reading, multiple area markers, security, aspect and zebra functions on the screen. They also have a 16-channel digital audio level indicator, showing the status, peak level and total value for each channel. The Lissajous curve is added to the audio level indicator to represent the phase difference and amplitude control. This on-screen feature is essential for work in the production studio or in a post-production room.

The new monitors are compatible with multiple input video signals, such as HD-SDI with 3G-SDI capability to accommodate uncompressed 1080p signal up to 3 Gbps, HDMI, component and composite video. They have calibration software available for download on the web.

Other notable features also include the ability to adjust the color temperature, on-screen time code indication, compatibility via SDI for subtitles, two front speakers and a tilting stand. The DT-V21G2 and DT-V17G2 portable models also include AC and DC power (12V. XLR4) and a carrying handle. They also have 2 programmable buttons F1 and F2 that can be customized for direct access to certain functions.

The DT-V24G2 (24"), DT-V17G25 (16.5") and DT-V17G2 (16.5") models are available in the current catalog. The DT-V21G2 model will be available next December.
