Animayo starts its first itinerant route in Barcelona
Animayo Barcelona will pay a special tribute to a guest of luxury honor, Claudio Biern Boyd, one of the parents of the Spanish and European animation.
Animayo, the animation summit, visual effects and video games, closes its doors in Madrid and goes to Barcelona to begin its first itinerant route of 2017. It will be in CaixaForum Barcelona on January 13 and 14.
In its recent edition in Madrid Animayo managed to gather professionals, students, curious, followers and fans of the sector, hanging the full poster in many of the sessions. Animayo, which has the collaboration of the social work "La Caixa", has consolidated its presence in Madrid as an unavoidable event for the meeting of all lovers of this industry.
The success achieved by Animayo in the capital and its positioning was evident in the assistance figures, with almost two thousand entries sold. Some of the participants came from cities near Madrid such as Toledo, Segovia and even Zaragoza.
Many of the most important schools and educational centers echoed the proposal attending their students, in addition to the University Center for Technology and Digital Art U-TAD.
Animayo, which emerged in Gran Canaria 11 years ago, is a summit whose central axis are the Masterclasses, the presentations, the courses and the workshops of the international stars invited, all of them experts and teachers of the animation cinema, the visual effects and the scope of the video game. A meeting for students, amateurs and professionals in the sector, focused on the training and development of new productions, all in parallel to an international festival with twelve years of positioning, which has proven to be a reference for its competitiveness, their excellence and their quality.

La cita anual del Festival en Gran Canaria es el pistoletazo de salida para un recorrido alrededor del mundo, con acciones en Gran Canaria, Madrid, Los Angeles, Bombay, Lisboa, Huesca, Zaragoza, Holanda, Sevilla, Uruguay y Lanzarote. Su siguiente cita se sitúa en Barcelona. Será el primer año de Animayo en la ciudad y llega repleto de actividades que se realizarán con la colaboración de la Obra Social “La Caixa”, FX Animation Barcelona 3D & Film School, El Centro Checo de Madrid y el Centro Eslovaco.

Another of the great special guests of this edition is Carlos Granel, characters designer in films such as The corpse bride, Spirit, the prince of Egypt, the route to El Dorado, Hotel Transylvania, Kung Fu Panda, Madagascar or Pirates... With him we will review the 25 years of GranGel Studios working on the design and creation of characters, giving the keys that every designer would like to have by the hand of this huge artist, considered one of the ten best in the world.
Nos sumergiremos en el universo 3D y en los efectos visuales, con ponencias de los expertos de la escuela oficial del Festival, FX Animation Barcelona 3D & Film School, como la de Nacho Doctor, head of FX Area & Program Instructor, effects technical director, lighting artist, compositor 2D & director de fotografía (The Jungle Book, Pirates of the Caribbean: the revenge of Salazar, Talking Tom and Friends), which will explain how the different postproduction departments of a feature film work. And with Toni Mena, the postproduction area coordinator, Palma de Oro at the Cannes Festival and currently in the Short List of the Oscars (among the 10 best), we will discover the ins and outs of one of its latest productions, TimeCode, where it will enter its postproduction and the incorporation of effects, such as color correction, animated graphics, tracking, replacement of 2D and 3D elements, the creation of visual effects, cutting techniques and image composition, etc ...
Video games
Video game creators will have the opportunity to meet the latest Amanita Design video game: Chuchel, through an analysis and presentation offered by Václav Blín. Animator and graphic artist of the study (Chuchel, Samorost 3, Samorost 1, Samorost, Botanicula, Machinarium, Rocketman, Questionaut). And they will have the best recommendations to raise the first VR experience and face virtual reality! With Daniel Candil- Studio Art director of Kerad Games, founded by Gerard Piqué, professional footballer of FC Barcelona (Golden Manager). There will also be a virtual reality space, to enjoy numerous experiences, organized by FX Animation.
We will take a tour from the origin of the anime to the present under the perspective of Ángel Sala, director of the International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalunya Sitges and Carlos Fernández and Lorena Ares de Moonbite Games, will present in Animayo the 2D animation feature film "Memories of a man on pijama", based on the homonymous work of Paco Roca.
Lovers of photography, illustration and graphic design will be able lighting/sharing, effects, render and postproduction.
Among the practical workshops, we will offer a characters design workshop, taught by Pablo Mendelbaum, Coordinator of FX Animation Animation and Character Design, to improve in seducing, entertaining, narrating and expressing itself through the art of drawing, color, body expression, psychology and volume. And we will also have Stop Motion workshops for children. Lula Gómez and Jordi Piulachs and a video game creation workshop taught by Juan González and David Corominas, professors of the FX Animation video game area.
In addition, we will project the Official Palmares Animayo 2016, which will gather the Animayo Awards for animation, visual effects and video games of this edition. The program also includes the premiere in Barcelona of the Czech film Mortal stories by Jan Bubeníček, and a Slovak special film made by women.
