Elemental takes the most out of the Amazon cloud to offer highly differentiated visualization experiences
Elemental has released new video processing technologies in NAB that will offer payment television suppliers, content programmers, broadcasters and business clients Design advanced and totally scalable workflows to create highly differentiated visualization experiences.
The new systems of AWS Elemental, already totally integrated in the Amazon Web Services structure, they have demonstrated in NAB 2017 increase the performance in real -time coding of live video and audio. In Las Vegas, Elemental presented the systems L100, L300, L500 and L700 capable of offering coding in 4kp60 and 4kp30 to the highest level as well as simultaneous transcodification.
Elemental also presented its low -cost Live Live solution with the L000 series, a single channel video coder adapted to the cloud contribution for HD and SD applications.
On the other hand, with the Elemental Server updated product line with a more powerful hardware for higher performance and greater density for file -based video processing. The new solutions of the Elementary Series Server S100, S300 and S500 can transcode large content libraries in less time to offer a faster change for continuous updates of video catalogs to the letter (VOD).
Also highlight that the most recent version of the Elemental Delta Delta Delivery Software supports the almost instantaneous creation of Catch Up TV or Clipped VOD services in a live broadcast, which simplifies the production of quality content for faster and more reduced delivery delivery. A single Elemental Delta node is designed to support up to one million assets, simplifying the deployment of large VOD catalogs, while facilitating the administration of live asset life cycles to VOD. Elemental Delta users will now be able to build mass libraries of VOD with extended limited availability only by storage.
HDR Contents
With regard to content with high dynamic, elementary Live and Elemental Server, they now offer complete video processing capabilities for HDR content, transforming any entry into the HDR 10 or Hybrid Log Gamma format for broadcast or delivery of video on demand. HDR channels can now be put more quickly on the market with a mixture of the standard dynamic range (SDR) and existing HDR, including promotions, ads and program content. In addition, existing assets of static and moving graphics may be reused to allow a unique graphic workflow for both SDR and HDR diffusion channels.
Advancing the elementary capabilities for the delivery of live video through IP transport, Elemental Live will add support to receive JPEG 2000 (J2K) of transport through TR-01, allowing another high quality contribution format to be used to deliver live contribution feeds to the Elemental Live software based on the cloud or cloud-based.
Elemental will introduce support for the intake and output of high quality codecs, including Hevc 4: 2: 2 10-bit and 8-bit and AVC High 4: 2: 2 Intra Profile, both in the premises and in the cloud, as well as deliver updated algorithms for a more versatile two steps VBr coding and an improved J2K decoding efficiency, guaranteeing the higher quality video outings For small and large format reproduction devices.
Workflow en nube
Keith Wymbs, Chief Marketing Officer in Elemental, highlights that “the deepest integration with Amazon Simple Storage Solution (Amazon S3) along with the new improvements to Elemental Cloud allow the reproduction of live channels from the cloud with content from Amazon S3, offering the ability to create new channels instantly for resilience or proof of concept.
In fact, there are already numerous channels worldwide that are using standard automation processes, including channel deployments completely based on the cloud. For example, the VOD platform of the Brazilian Globo has begun to use elementary processing solutions to compress the contents in HEVC.
Elemental showed in NAB 2017 a range of integrations with cloud-based solutions for intake, including CODECS AVC and HEVC using RTMP and RTP with the correction of forward errors, as well as integrations designed to promote the contribution J2K TR-01, contribution sources to be ingested in cloud services.
Finally, highlight the new Amazon Elastic Transcoder service. Scalable, easy to use and profitable will allow owners and content producers to convert multimedia files of their source format to versions that will be reproduced on devices such as smartphones, tablets and PCs with all aspects of the service administered transparently and automatically.
Good sample of the potential of elementary and Amazon Web Services services was the first 4K broadcast live from the International Space Station, in orbit to about 400km from the Earth flying at a speed of 27600km/h, which could be followed in a special session of NAB.
