HP renews its Z family of professional workstations

The new workstations are equipped with Thunderbolt 3 (optional) and Dual 1GbE Ports (standard) to support the high-bandwidth data transfer demanded by current and future users, as well as Microsoft Windows 76 support for legacy workflows.

Each offers modular front-end IO with USB 3.1 G2 Type-C ports. The Z8 and Z6 models support up to two CPUs and an optional dual 10GbE network module for high-speed networking at half the cost of current HP workstations, and without taking up a PCIe expansion slot.

The new HP Z8 G4 workstation has the ability to run the most complex simulations and process massive amounts of data. Users can run 3D simulations and edit 8K video in real time with up to 56 processing cores and 3TB of main memory, three times the capacity of its predecessor4. The HP Z8 Tower has 67 percent more memory, 27 percent more processor performance, 40 percent more PCIe I/O bandwidth, and 29 percent more power supply than the Z840 for customers running the most demanding workloads.

It supports the latest professional graphics, 384GB of RAM, and M.2 slots for HP Z Turbo Drive PCIe SSD hard drive users, so they can experience seamless performance in visual effects and design visualization workloads.

This new workstation offers a highly modular design experience with options such as a second processor and memory storage solution so users can double their computing capacity quickly and easily. The HP Z6 Workstation has up to 1.5 times the total amount of system memory, 67 percent more memory bandwidth, 27 percent more processor core count capacity, and 22 percent more PCIe I/O bandwidth for customers with the Z640.

The HP Z4 G4 Workstation is the next generation of HP's best-selling workstations and has been redesigned from top to bottom. This new PC features an ecosystem ahead of its time with more standard features and performance upgrade options never before available on a single-processor HP workstation. Users in a wide range of markets can choose the ideal configuration to meet their performance requirements. With the impressive new Intel Xeon W processor family, simulation CAD users will see extraordinary scaling in application performance, giving them the ability to visualize ideas at any time during the design process. The HP Z4 Workstation also offers significant design enhancements for tomorrow's office environment with a sleek, modern industrial design, including ergonomic front and rear handles, a dramatically smaller chassis for tight workspaces, and a new dust filter option for industrial environments.

The HP Z4 Workstation, offering a great solution for embedded applications, unlocks new levels of IO bandwidth with dual 1GbE networking and M.2 slots for HP PCIe Turbo Drive SSDs, as well as the ability to easily upgrade the front USB to include two USB 3.1 G2 Type-C ports. The HP Z4 Workstation has 11 percent more memory, 25 percent more processor core work capacity, and 13 percent More PCIe I/O bandwidth for customers upgrading from the Z440.

HP has also introduced seven new HP Z monitors, designed for the most demanding customers looking for the best viewing experiences and out-of-the-box calibration. Among them, the curved design of the HP Z38c stands out. This monitor offers a hassle-free workspace, eliminating the center bezel of dual-screen setups and featuring a large 37.5-inch diagonal curve, 2300mm radius. and a wide 21:9 aspect ratio.
