In the national section we find 5 Spanish productions and another 2 in co-production with France and Estonia respectively. The selection is completed by Jossie Malis, who with Bendito Machine VI – Carry on (Spain-France), puts the culmination of a saga that has earned it multiple international awards.

Works from countries as diverse as Belgium, Belarus, Canada, Colombia, South Korea, Croatia, the United States, Estonia, France, the Netherlands, Portugal, the United Kingdom, Russia and Switzerland; a diversity that can also be seen in animation techniques ranging from 3D to drawing on paper, through stop motion or pixilation.

Alongside the important names highlighted above, the selection is home to many other gems to discover such as Inanimate by Lucia Bulgheroni (United Kingdom), which has already received the third prize at Cinéfondation at Cannes, or Vivat Musketeers! by Anton Dyakov (Russia), Young Audience Award at Annecy.

Young talent will also play a prominent role, with clear examples such as Cabin Pressure (United Kingdom) by Matthew Lee, winner of the Best Student Short Film Award at the Manchester Film Festival, or Hybrids, directed by a group of five young French filmmakers, some of whom have experience in major blockbusters such as Avengers: Infinity War or Thor: Ragnarok, something that is evident in its outstanding visual effects.

Along with the official section, the event does not lose sight of another of its main objectives: audiovisual literacy and the creation of new viewers among the younger audience. For this reason, it consolidates the initiative launched last year, the Peque 3D Wire. On this occasion, the special screening of the Norwegian feature film will take place The Haquivaqui Forest, a musical adventure where the animals must find a new balance based on respect and harmony among all the inhabitants of the forest.
