The future of animation stars in the winners of the 13th edition of Weird Market and 3D Wire Fest

Weird Market, International Animation, Video Games and New Media Market, and 3D Wire Fest, International Animation Festival, has revealed the winners of its 13th edition.

Homeless Home by Alberto Vázquez, Souvenir Souvenir by Bastien Dubois All Those Sensations in My Belly by Marko Djeska have taken the distinctions to best national, international and European short film respectively in the cinematographic section. Special mentions have gone to Loop by Pablo Polledri (at the state level) and A Film About a Pudding by the British Roel Van Beek in the international competition. The jury of the awards was made up of the Polish producer Katarzyna Gromadzka, the Head of the Children and Youth Department of the Portuguese public channel (RTP); Andrea Basílio, the French creator and producer Alex Laffaille, and the Spanish director and screenwriter José Luis Ucha.

The other part of the awards of this film competition has been decided by the public attending the sessions. In this section, by Simone Only a Child Giampaolo (Switzerland) has won the international competition, while the Spanish-Argentine co-production Loop by Pablo Polledri has once again shone in the national section.

Call for projects

Regarding the call for projects, Tied by Carmen Córdoba has won the Movistar+ Short Project Award. The award is endowed with the acquisition of the broadcasting rights of the short by Movistar+ and an amount of 9,000 euros for a period of 2 years (unlimited number of passes), the first year being exclusive for the aforementioned channel. In addition, the work will officially premiere in the 2022 or 2023 edition of this market.
