Hisdesat and Telefónica Empresas will provide communications and content services to Spanish military personnel deployed on missions

The Business Temporary Union (UTE) created by Telefónica and Hisdesat It will facilitate the Spanish Ministry of Defense a solution for the supply of equipment, installation, safe configuration and provision of Communications and multimedia services to personnel deployed in operations areas. The contract has a duration of 14 months and up to two years of extension.
This UTE offers a customer service, thanks to the capacities provided by both companies, both in terms of satellite communications, and in the Internet service, wireless access and content distribution. Among the services provided stand out: the service of Safe information for information satellite even operations areas, access to multimedia content, distance training and an Internet access service and IP mobile telephony.
The objective of the Ministry of Defense to implement this novel and advanced project, through the Information and Communications System and Technology Center (CESIC), is to improve the living conditions of military personnel in deployments while increasing safety and protection against cyber attacks. In this way, military personnel deployed in the operations zone can have an individual assistance service through a communications platform (voice and data), Online formation, and of entertainment (With a live sports TV channel, news by the 24 -hour RTVE channel, in addition to other Movistar+contents, such as series and movies), from its mobile devices with quality and safety.
The first facilities will be done in autumn in the missions in Latvia, Somalia, Mali and the Central African Republic, and ships participating in different operations abroad.
