With the JPEG-XS option developed by Intopix, the Neuron products range, inherited after the purchase of Axon, will improve compression and decompression functionality.

EVS It will include the solution Tico-Xs Based on the standard JPEG-XS of Intopix In its range of solutions Neuron, now in the Belgian company catalog after Axon's acquisition.

Designed around IP technology, Neuron establishes new reference points in terms of performance and flexibility. It offers high performance processing in a centralized and virtualized environment, which offers total flexibility and performance, and uses significantly less electrical energy. Neuron resolves all processing tasks that a BroadCaster finds in the IP and Legacy domains, allowing multiple channels in a single device without physical waterfalls.

With the JPEG-XS option fed by Intopix, the EVS products range It will improve compression and decompression functionality. JPEG-XS is the new standard created for critical latency applications. It offers a loss video compression with a very low complexity and low energy consumption. The latency is as low as a few pixels lines, therefore less than a millisecond to code and decode a video flow with a compression ratio of 8: 1 -10: 1.

Neuron JPEG-XS decoder and decoder works with the same hardware as the Neuron General Processing Module. Loading different firmware to this plate, up to 8 HD encoders and decoders can be added or up to 4 UHD encoders and decoders. The inputs and exits of the 16 processing routes can be configured freely to use SDI, ST2022 or ST2110 or JPEG XS (DES) tablets. This means that when 4 HD encoders and 4 HD decoders are enabled, there are 8 routes for SDI processing to IP, IP to SDI or IP to IP.
