IntoPIX confirms at IBC 2023 the great form of JPEG XS

The JPEG XS format continues to gain strength in the market, as intoPIX demonstrates in IBC 2023 relying on new agreements with Lawo, Cobalt, Artel or Bridge Technologies.

The latest agreement revealed by IntoPix will allow users of .edge de Lawo benefit from the codec TicoXS to encode, process and decode IP streams SMPTE ST2110-22 compressed in JPEG XS HD, 3G and UHD video format resolutions. This licensable option means that uncompressed streams will no longer need to travel from a processor somewhere on the increasingly widespread SMPTE 2110-based IP networks.

IntoPIX has also recently signed other agreements that will be exhibited at IBC 2023. It highlights its strategic collaboration with Cobalt Digital to promote the new mini converters BBG-2110-H/S y BBG-2110-2H, and the openGear JPEG XS to SDI converter card Sapphire 8JXS-8S. Ambos miniconvertidores Sapphire responden a la demanda de visualización de contenidos JPEG XS recibidos en monitores HDMI. Estas unidades cuentan con doble fuente de alimentación, lo que les permite convertir a HDMI el flujo JPEG XS con las esencias de audio y datos auxiliares asociadas. Además, son compatibles con SMPTE ST 2022-7 Seamless Redundancy hasta Clase C para funcionamiento WAN.

Otros titulares clave de IntoPix de cara a IBC son su alianza con Artel, la cual se traduce en la integración de la tecnología JPEG XS en la solución openGear Artel Smart, o la creciente integración de JPEG XS en las soluciones de Bridge Technologies, la cual empezó hace cuatro años y ya se ha materializado en productos como el VB440 and the VB330.

The format JPEG XS offers compression ratios up to 30:1, making it suitable for WAN-based IP networks, where bandwidth is often limited while the number of camera signals and video streams continues to increase. Likewise, this format provides lossless visual quality with a sub-millisecond delay (<1 fotograma de vídeo) y está diseñado para applications where latency is critical, such as live remote event productions over wide area networks.
