Antix Digital Acquires Imagine Communications Compression and Streaming Product Portfolio
Led by Tony Huang, former head of product management for the same product family at Digital Rapids, the new company will accelerate future solution development while taking over service and support for existing customers and systems.
The technology behind one of the most respected brands that helped ignite today's streaming media landscape is once again an independent company with a clear focus, as the newly formed Antix Digital ha acquired the portfolio of compression and streaming solutions live from Imagine Communications. Directed by Tony Huang, former director of product management for the same product family at Digital Rapids, the new company will accelerate future development of the solutions while taking over service and support for existing customers and systems.
The operation includes solutions compression, processing and straming based on software that allows major media companies to engage audiences effectively and profitably through distribution platforms ranging from mobile and OTT services to linear broadcast and cable channels. The foundation of the historic product line was developed by pioneering streaming solutions developer Digital Rapids, which Imagine Communications acquired in 2014. Imagine continued to evolve the portfolio with enhanced features and new products, but with streaming media delivery now deeply embedded in today's society well beyond commercial media and entertainment applications, it became clear that there are broader opportunities.

The transaction also marks the return of the portfolio's original StreamZ brand of products. Solutions transitioning to Antix Digital ownership include:
- The family StreamZ Live (previously rebranded by Imagine Communications as SelenioFlex Live) of live/linear multi-screen encoders for streaming and OTT applications.
- The multi-format ingestion and encoding platform StreamZ Ingest (formerly SelenioFlex Ingest) for archiving and streaming to video-on-demand applications
- The unified compression platform StreamZ ONE (formerly Selenio One) for traditional linear and multi-screen distribution
Imagine will continue to sell products purchased by Antix to its customers as a non-exclusive reseller of Antix, while Antix will fulfill Imagine Communications' existing customer support contracts for these solutions.
Huang has extensive experience in product portfolio management, having served as Global Director of Compression Product Line Management at Imagine Communications following his time at Digital Rapids. Prior to Digital Rapids, he worked in DTV compression product management at broadcast provider Evertz.
