Grupo Godó sells its DTT multiplex in Catalonia
EDICA, a subsidiary of Godó, closes an agreement with Ganso 2022, in the hands of businessman Nicola Pedrazzoli, promoter of projects such as Teve.cat and Canal Català.
Godó Group, owner of Emissions Digitals de Catalunya Sociedad Anónima (EDICA), has reached an agreement to transfer the property of this company, licensee of the digital terrestrial television multiplex (MUX) with coverage of Catalonia, to Goose 2022, in the hands of the businessman Nicola Pedrazzoli, promoter of projects such as Teve.cat and Canal Català.
Godó, editor of media such as La Vanguardia or RAC 1, held the concession of the four channels of the multiplex since August 2003, which in addition to 8 TV, broadcast Barça TV, BOM Cine and Fibracat TV.
The advertising crisis derived from the COVID-19 pandemic, the rise of streaming services and new national and Catalan operators have forced Godó to consider its commitment to audiovisuals.
The terms and conditions are subject to the mandatory and prior approval by the Consell del 'Audiovisual de Catalunya (CAC).
