RTVE and Boomerang prepare a series based on 'Tea Rooms'

'Tea Rooms', a novel by Luisa Carnés, will be the plot base on which the new daily fiction of RTVE, a production of Boomerang TV which aims to transport viewers to Madrid in 1930.

Tea rooms, published in 1934, is one of the best-known novels by Luisa Carnés, one of the great writers of the Generation of '27. For her argument, the author was inspired by her own experiences working as a waitress in a Madrid pastry shop.

Set in Madrid in 1930, the story shows the portrait of an exciting time from the daily life of the workers and clients of a tea room near Puerta del Sol. It is a time of new times and great transformations in which there is also room for good living and glamour.

De este modo, apunta RTVE, Tea rooms se confirma como la historia de un grupo de “mujeres vitalistas dispuestas a luchar para cambiar su destino, capaces de sufrir, de amar, de reír y emocionar”.
