Atomohd falls, the largest audiovisual piracy service in Spain
The action of the Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment (ACE), The main world coalition against piracy, causes the closure of the largest illegal streaming and torrents of Spain, atomohd.
Atomohd was launched in 2020 by a group of individuals, some of whom had previous convictions in Spain for infringement of intellectual property and, to avoid justice, they fled Andorra.
The service allowed users to transmit and download illegally content from a VOD library More than 13,000 films and 4,500 series Television in Spanish and other languages. The pirated contents affect all the members of ACE.
Since its creation, the site registered 235 million visitors, with an average of 9.7 million monthly visits and 484,000 unique visitors. 90% of online traffic originated in Spain, followed by the United States, Germany and France. Atomohd operated through 60 web domains.
"This dismantling represents another great victory of Ace over illegal content distributors," he said Jan van Voorn, Executive Vice President and World Head of Content Protection of the Motion Picture Association and director of ACE. "It is increasingly clear that the great criminal operators such as atomahd are not immune to the coercive actions of ACE."
The domains are being transferred to ACE and will be redirected to the “Watch Legally” page of the ACE website.
