Óscar Juste (Ross): “Estamos a su disposición para hacer realidad sus objetivos creativos, técnicos o de negocio”
Senior Vice President for Global Sales at Ross Video, Óscar Juste, addresses in this video interview within the framework of IBC 2023 the main innovations that the Canadian manufacturer has demonstrated at the fair, focusing on pillars such as immersion, hyperconvergence and Artificial Intelligence.
One of the focal points of Ross Video's booth in Amsterdam was a set in which the Extended Reality (XR) made the most of the Artificial intelligence (AI), at the Robotic cameras with fine-tuned tracking and improved cloud production and Hyperconverged infrastructure.
The latest improvements to Ross Video's software are Voyager 5.2, with technology Nanite and Lumen Unreal Engine; Xpression Maps 3.4, which offers greater data integration and better user control; and XPression 11.5.
As for the AI, Ross carried out several demos showing how ChatGPT is integrated into your newsroom software, Inception, and on Ross' new media asset management platform: Streamline Pro. This solution provides a shared space for both newsroom and creative departments to know what content is needed, so teams can agree more quickly and easily. When content is finalized, Streamline Pro automates the entire process of preparing for broadcast.
Hyperconverged infrastructure
The hyperconverged platform Ultrix Designed to reduce the footprint of production infrastructure with massive savings in space, cabling and power consumption, is expanded with new additions: Ultrix-Modx-io, a modular I/O card for Ultrix, which increases I/O support, granularity, and maximizes port utilization; Ultrix-IPX-IO, an IP card for Ultrix that enhances ST 2110 IP workflows with increased bandwidth capacities and new efficiencies in distributed architectures; Ultristream license, which facilitates the streaming of multiviewer outputs directly from Ultrix via NDI, providing multiviewer accessibility even on the Ultrix FR12 Smart Door and Ultriproc license, which adds procamp, color correction, and SDR/HDR processing capabilities to Ultrix.
It should also be noted that its new SmartCore functionality cohesively merges control over Ultrix's internal processing and connected openGear resources into a unified interface for superior control system efficiency and seamless workflows. In addition, he has exhibited the SFC-6901. One of the most outstanding products in the range openGear, this high-density, multi-functional, four-channel 12G-SDI fiber converter is configurable to handle fiber transmission and regeneration.
Carbonite Ultra 60
Another of the focus at IBC was the new mixer Carbonite Ultra 60. Designed to handle the most demanding productions, Ultra 60 supports up to 60×25 I/O in HD or UHD. Its modular 3RU design offers the flexibility to start with fewer inputs and outputs, allowing facilities to prepare for present and future needs.
The Carbonite Ultra 60 arrives accompanied by the latest control surfaces TouchDrive:the TD3 and TD4 panels. The largest in the TouchDrive series, they feature expanded control capabilities that allow production facilities to deliver larger, more complex live productions at a fraction of the cost.
Ross also exhibited at IBC 2023 the latest version of Ross Production Cloud, a suite of live production technologies based on Ross software and deployed on AWS Cloud. This latest update is manifested in a demonstration that exposes how to operate a complete production control room in the cloud taking advantage of the flexibility and scalability of cloud technology.
