Ross Video has surprised the market with the announcement of the purchase of Abekas, its entry into the replay server business, an agreement for the development of virtual scenarios and a new PTZ camera for studio.

David Ross, CEO of the company, has stressed that "Abekas is a reference brand that has been a pioneer in many of the innovations that we have seen in recent years. Incorporating them into our family goes beyond acquiring product lines as it also means absorbing their advanced technologies by adding this Ross technical experience."

Con la adquisición, Ross incorpora los servidores de repetición Replay Mira, los servidores de producción Mira & Tria y el sistema de eliminación de delay AirCleaner.

Another announcement that has attracted attention is its new PTZ Pivot studio camera. After entering this segment with the dedicated chroma key system Acid, Ross now faces a new line of PTZ cameras. With Full HD 1080p resolution, this device works with 20:1 Olympus optical zoom, and has high sensitivity to lighting and low noise level. All this for an aggressive price below $2,750.

The new Pivot is designed to work in the corporate segment, conferences, small productions or worship spaces. Ross will market a kit that will include three PTZ cameras, a Carbonite Solo mixer and an Xpression Graphics system, all for under $20,000.

The next innovation came in the form of an agreement with developer Future Group, working on innovative reality simulation solutions for the video game market. The agreement involves the combination of Ross Video's virtual set experience with the creation power of the Unreal Engine tool that allows the creation of highly realistic scenarios, with responsive interaction capabilities.

Looking to the future, Ross is showing itself at this IBC committed to new IP environments by announcing that the company is joining the AIMS Alliance as well as the purchase of the Canadian company Coveloz dedicated to time-sensitive network technologies.

"We want to help the broadcast market with the purchase of Coveloz to more quickly adopt the IP infrastructure standard. The company will continue as an independent brand with its own line of products, which satisfy even our competitors," said Ross.
