Mediapro fully enters the virtual reality sector
Together with 100 Balas and Sony Interactive Entertainment Spain, the first joint project will be the video game 'Flipy's Tesla! Let's invent the future' with Animatoon Studio in artistic creation.
Mediapro will fully enter the virtual reality sector with the help of 100 Balas and Sony Interactive Entertainment Spain in a joint project that bears fruit Flipy's Tesla! Let's invent the future. The collaboration between these companies, leaders and references in their sectors, within the support program for the development of Spanish video games PlayStation Talents Alliances, has resulted in an exciting game for PlayStation VR that stimulates the curiosity of players and brings them closer to scientific knowledge through a graphic adventure based on an immersive experience.
The video game has had the scientific advice of Javier Santaolalla, doctor in Particle Physics, researcher at CERN and scientific disseminator, and is supported by Creations, an educational innovation project funded by the European Commission, which aims to implement new educational activities in the classroom that combine science and art in order to enhance creativity in science learning. Animatoon Studio is responsible for the artistic creation and development of the title, which will be released this year exclusively for PlayStation VR.
On June 28, the first details of Flipy's Tesla! Let's invent the future within the space that PlayStation Talents will have at Gamelab Barcelona. At this international conference on video games and interactive entertainment, a first approach to the project will be made. In addition, professionals and visitors will be able to see what the game consists of thanks to a playable demo in which it will be possible to carry out one of the experiments included in this graphic adventure.
Mediapro has already developed Virtual Reality projects in its museum spaces division, an experience that it now wants to incorporate into content for video games. For its part, 100 Balas, audiovisual production company behind titles such as Pepe's beach bar, Elms and Oaks or more recently eSports Generation, makes the leap into the world of scientific dissemination thanks to this project whose original idea responds to the commitment of its content director, Flipy, with the purpose of awakening curiosity about different scientific disciplines through experimentation. Finally, Sony Interactive Entertainment Spain, through its PlayStation Talents program, continues to show its support for the development of Spanish video games and highlights the company's interest in those games that explore the possibilities offered by VR technology.
