These are the most read news of 2023 in Panorama

Coming to the last days of 2023, it is worth stopping to review some of the most read news of this year, which definitively abandons the dark days brought by the pandemic and, in parallel to a turbulent geopolitics, looks forward, bringing a promising future to the broadcast market.

One of the main headlines that the last 12 months have left us is the effective arrival of IP to broadcast environments. Opportunities in terms of content production, relocation and virtualization are advancing unstoppably in the main players in the European market. This impulse is accompanied by a more effective UHD than ever, exemplified by increasingly effective proofs of concept in broadcast territories and productions that assume 4K or 8K as standards in fiction.

This hyperactivity in the creation of content, which we had witnessed in recent years with the dizzying growth of the video-on-demand sector, lands on television stations, which are investing large amounts of resources to shape their own digital platforms. Catalogs grow, identities are redefined and technological opportunities arise given the great demands involved in offering a top-level platform that can look face to face with international giants.

All of these developments, together with the explosion of generative AI, the consolidation of 5G in production processes and innovation in staging with high-quality screens and extended realities, show an industry determined not to be left behind. Investments, getting back on track, leave years of impasse behind in favor of new production methodologies and technologies that allow a more rational use of resources. All this, in a broadcast panorama that is beginning to be supported by renewed pillars; innovative and different from what I was used to, but equally solid.

The new year is approaching and, once again, we have the opportunity to thank all our readers and advertising companies for their trust, which continue to trust us on the eve of our 15th anniversary. Here's to a 2024 full of great news!
