SNS brings faster workflows and smarter automation to NAB 2025
From the high-performance shared storage solutions Studio Network Solutions (SNS) are known to the new frontier of everything powered by Artificial Intelligence, the company based in Missouri (USA) is showing its latest proposals at NAB 2025.
When working with thousands, or even hundreds of thousands, of high-resolution media files, transcoding them into proxies can be time-consuming. SNS is addressing this issue drastically reducing proxy generation time with Transcode Accelerator v.2, now available and included at no additional cost to users. EVO users.
Instead of relying solely on its EVO systems, the new Transcode Accelerator You can distribute transcoding tasks to your EVO servers and macOS workstations on your network running Adobe Media Encoder. This approach ensures that the workload is efficiently distributed across existing network resources, resulting in significant time savings for users. large transcoding jobs. What used to take days can now take hours, and what used to take hours can now take minutes.
This version also introduces support for new codecs for EVO users, allowing proxy generation for Somy, Canon and all other video codecs currently supported by Media Encoder.
It is also the first engine of orchestration for Media Encoder that leverages existing hardware, helping organizations maximize the value and utilization of their current resources, without the need for additional transcoding servers, cloud-based services or other equipment.
AI Playground
The Generative Artificial Intelligence is gaining momentum in media production, but it's just one aspect of AI's broader impact on our industry. AI is also transforming media management, storage optimization, and more. SNS is leading the way with AI-powered tools designed to help creative teams realize the full potential of these innovations.
At NAB 2025 SNS will explore the AI Playground to explore the various applications of AI in a safe and practical environment. In the AI Playground, you can discover how AI can improve your workflow, whether it's querying complex combinations of metadata, identifying similar video and image files, locating specific timecode moments in media, and much more.
The AI Playground is an exclusive demo experience at NAB designed to explore the broad potential of AI and inspire open discussions about which AI concepts would be most valuable when applied to real-world workflows. Schedule your demo today to see AI Playground in action.
Archive and Restore Workflow
SNS has announced in Las Vegas that there will soon be a new archive and restore workflow in ShareBrowser. With the integration of S3 compatible platforms, as well as SMB network devices and EVO remote shares, users can archive and restore media directly from the ShareBrowser interface.
ShareBrowser's new archiving features will provide real-time progress updates on archive and restore statuses, while special watermarks will indicate whether a clip is archived or available online. Users will be able to preview archived media to ensure they have selected the correct clip or clips before starting the restore process. This solution provides greater visibility into archived media and the archive/restore process, allowing teams to manage both active projects and long-term storage within the ShareBrowser MAM environment.
SNS training academy
The SNS Training Academy, also launching later this year, is an online learning platform designed to help media professionals realize the full potential of their SNS storage solutions. The academy will offer self-paced video courses, including core topics such as Introduction to shared storage y ShareBrowser Basics, and more advanced training courses and certifications will be offered in the future for both users and system administrators.
NAB attendees now have the exclusive opportunity to pre-register and be among the first to access the platform when it goes live.
In addition to the new online training experience, SNS continues to offer live training sessions with product and workflow specialists. These experts provide customized training tailored to your specific production environment and workflow.
Although SNS solutions are designed to be very intuitive and easy to use, SNS is committed to ensuring that customers never feel like they are alone. To do this, we offer a wide range of resources, including detailed documentation, a solid knowledge base, and the best technical support in the industry. The SNS Training Academy is yet another way we help our users get the most out of their EVO systems.
Review and approval
SNS is presenting an innovative workflow in Las Vegas cloud-based review and approval, designed to streamline external collaboration and improve efficiency. The launch date for this new external review and approval solution has not been announced.
With this new feature, users can send media files directly from ShareBrowser to any email address, whether the recipient is an EVO user, an external collaborator, or anyone else who needs to access the content. Recipients can view media files and provide feedback in a variety of ways, including comments, screen drawings, annotations, emojis, and more, all within an intuitive browser-based interface.
This cloud-based solution offers the flexibility to review projects from anywhere with an Internet connection, without the need for a VPN or access to the server. Only the sender needs authorized access to ShareBrowser; everyone else can access the file simply through a web link. Notably, SNS is seeking pilot customers for the new review and approval workflow.
AES-256 encryption
The latest version of EVO ships now with options AES-256 encryption for improved security of those who need it most. With support for encryption at rest and in flight, EVO employs the gold standard for data protection, including logical disk encryption, SMB signing, and SMB encryption.
Additionally, the latest version of ShareBrowser introduces specific timecode markers to frame-accurate annotations. Users can now mark in and out points to create subclips, making it easier to add searchable metadata to specific segments of a clip rather than the entire clip. These markers and subclips are imported into Adobe Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve, along with their media and other metadata, when you use the ShareBrowser panel or extension for these video editing applications.
The updated ShareBrowser v.7.1 panel for Adobe Premiere Pro is now available on Adobe Exchange. For the latest DaVinci Resolve workflow integration plugin that supports ShareBrowser markers and subclips, contact SNS Support.
On the other hand, Slingshot, EVO's integrated transcoder and automation engine, remains one of the most effective time-saving elements in EVO Suite. In addition to automatic transcoding, Slingshot lets you schedule recurring backup, sync, transfer, and replication tasks to a growing list of local, network, and cloud storage destinations. And yes, that list is growing again.
Storj and Ortana join existing SNS integrations with Amazon S3, Dropbox, Microsoft Azure, OneDrive, Box.com, Wasabi, Backblaze, Google Cloud Platform and SNS's own EVO Cloud, giving creative teams more flexibility in managing backup, sync, replication, data transfer and disaster recovery automations across a wide range of cloud and on-premises solutions.
EVO users can now replicate media to Storj, a globally distributed cloud storage platform designed for performance, security, efficiency and sustainability. Unlike traditional cloud providers, Storj reuses existing hardware across its network of more than 20,000 storage nodes in more than 100 countries around the world, reducing energy consumption, e-waste, and costs. Storj distributes encrypted file segments across a global network, ensuring high availability, privacy, and redundancy while eliminating single points of failure.
EVO integrates with Storj as an S3-compatible cloud storage destination, allowing media professionals to automate backups, manage sync and replication jobs, and transfer data to Storj on demand or on a recurring schedule.
Lastly, the integration between EVO and Ortana Media Group's Cubix platform brings advanced organizational capabilities to creative media workflows. Leveraging EVO APIs, Cubix can automate and orchestrate tasks such as provisioning cloud storage, archiving files, generating project sequences from bin contents, syncing ShareBrowser bins across multiple locations, migrating assets from other storage systems, integrating with AI/ML engines for rich metadata tagging, and much more. The possibilities are endless. This integration minimizes manual effort, improves efficiency, and provides greater flexibility for workflow organization in multimedia production environments.
EVO also integrates with Ross Video Media I/O. For live and broadcast production workflows, the new integration between ShareBrowser MAM and Ross Video Media I/O offers a faster path from ingest to editing. With this integration, when Media I/O automatically generates proxy files during ingestion, you can make them available in ShareBrowser as soon as the process is complete, eliminating the need for additional transcoding or proxy rendering that could slow down your workflow. Powered by EVO's integrated API, included at no additional cost, this solution combines the media ingestion capabilities of Media I/O with EVO's Signature Series tools for Ross Video. It offers a time-saving solution designed to meet the fast-paced demands of broadcasting, sports and live entertainment.
