Dolby Laboratories has demonstrated at NAB 2025 in Las Vegas how Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos are elevating the live sports viewing experience while introducing the new suite of Dolby OptiView managed services for sports streaming.

Dolby OptiView is an innovative set of streaming solutions for sports, media and entertainment companies to maximize viewer engagement and monetization. In reality, it aims to go beyond pure streaming, since it is postulated as a revolution in engagement, monetization and personalization.

With high-quality playback, seamless ad experiences, and consistent low-latency streaming, this premium solution ensures viewers stay connected, engaged, and ready for more, all without missing a single detail.

Two powerful technologies in one

Dolby OptiView, formerly known as Dolby Millicast y THEO, brings together two powerful technologies in one streaming solution. In Las Vegas, Dolby OptiView has been showcased as a new live streaming solution that can handle all latency needs, without compromising quality or user experience. The low latency streaming demonstration has demonstrated a selectable latency and consistent for different live sports use cases: 500 ms for real-time interaction, 1-2 s for use cases such as live sports betting to align video with data latency, and up to 5 s for broadcast-like latency.

When it comes to advertising, the Dolby OptiView ad solution increases viewer engagement and generates more advertising revenue with the server-guided ad insertion (SGAI). The demo featured non-intrusive, precisely targeted ad formats such as L-bar and double-box advertising in low-latency streams.
