Daktronics and Grass Valley: strategic alliance to unite LED systems with content management
In a further step in the convergence of broadcast and ProAV environments, Grass Valley and Daktronics have announced an agreement to combine their different verticals with the goal of transforming the fan experience in all types of venues.
Grass Valley’s live production expertise will be coupled with Daktronics‘ LED technology to deliver end-to-end solutions aimed at improving “content creation, production efficiency and real-time presentation” for sports and other entertainment venues. The collaboration underscores both companies’ “commitment to innovation,” delivering venue solutions that adapt to the evolving needs of sports, in the process setting “a new industry standard” in the industry for immersive fan experiences and scalable infrastructures.
The collaboration has already kicked off: both companies have launched several projects applying the technical integration of Daktronics displays with Grass Valley’s IP-based live production tools. Details of these deployments will be announced in the coming months.
Brad Wiemann, interim CEO and president of Daktronics, believes this alliance with Grass Valley represents a “powerful alignment of complementary technologies.” “Together, we are helping venues deliver fully immersive, end-to-end experiences that transform the way fans engage with live events,” he said.
Jon Wilson, CEO of Grass Valley, says: “Joining forces with Daktronics allows us to push the boundaries of what’s possible in live production and venue presentation. With two of the industry’s leading brands, we are excited about what this means for the future of integrated, scalable solutions in the world’s top venues.”
