TVU launches MediaMesh, “a global shared memory” to produce and distribute live video
The new MediaMesh platform from TVU Networks, who will take his first steps during IBC 2025 (September 12-15), allows any authorized tool or team to access and contribute to live signals without depending on fixed infrastructure and without the usual limitations of the cloud.
For decades, the live production, whether on-site or remote, has been limited by fixed physical infrastructure, specific equipment, and rigid routing. Although the cloud promised to break these barriers, explains the TVU, currently only about “1% of live productions” have been fully migrated, as adoption is “hindered by the complexity of connecting sources, routing signals, and integrating various applications.” TVU MediaMesh searches remove those barriers by entering a “global shared memory” for live video, which aims to simplify signal connectivity and reduce setup time.
As explained Mike Cronk, vice president of strategy at TVU Networks, MediaMesh “removes the biggest obstacle” to cloud adoption by making live feeds “instantly accessible anywhere,” as easily as opening a shared file. In this way, it offers teams the freedom to produce “from anywhere, using the tools they want without worrying about the back-end.”
TVU MediaMesh is now available, even in AWS Marketplace, allowing customers to deploy it instantly. Additionally, this solution, which already powered TVU's SaaS applications for world-class live events, spanning from AI routing and indexing to production and broadcast, open your APIs for customers and partners to “shape the future of live production.”
To guide the evolution of the platform, TVU has created a MediaMesh Advisory Board (MAB), which brings together leaders from seven major media companies and five partner organizations. He MAB will meet quarterly from September 3 to provide feedback and ensure MediaMesh reflects real-world needs.
Telos Alliance, Jünger Audio and TVU Networks: strategic alliance to drive cloud audio with AI at TVU MediaMesh
The cloud solutions portfolio of Telos Alliance becomes directly integrated into the platform MediaMesh of TVU Networks, which will provide “next-generation” audio capabilities to broadcasters and content creators.
With this integration, TVU users will be able to automate complex audio workflows, streamlining productions in the process; “ensure” consistent, high-quality audio, and leverage AI to alleviate manual workloads. In addition, thanks to the Telos Alliance technology integrated into the platform, users will be able to access functions such as Younger Audio flexAI for multi-channel processing and Automix, and Minnetonka AudioTools Server for post-production automation and Linear Acoustic upmix, downmix and volume tools, all optimized for distributed and collaborative workflows.
