Fujifilm - MicroSalon AEC 2025 - GFX Eterna 55

The GFX Eterna 55 film camera will be the main attraction of the presence of Fujifilm in it MicroSalon AEC 2025 (December 12-13, La Nave, Madrid), an event in which the Japanese company will also highlight its LTO Ultrium 10 technology.

In it MicroSalon AEC 2025, Fujifilm will once again place technology at the service of the seventh art and audiovisual sector, bringing its most recent developments closer to the communities of filmmakers and directors of photography to reinforce its commitment to innovation in the cinematographic field. In the words of Santiago Sanz, optical devices manager from Fujifilm Spain: "MicroSalón AEC is the ideal place to connect directly with the community of directors of photography, manufacturers, rentals, producers and film schools. Without a doubt, the best setting to listen to their needs, share our technical solutions, present new products such as the Fujifilm GFX Eterna 55 film camera and offer our support to film professionals."

MicroSalón AEC 2025 - PosterThose attending the Madrid event will be able to see first-hand the keys to the GFX Eterna 55, camera that has a sensor 102 megapixel large format, with a diagonal length of approximately 55 mm, which is around 1.7 times larger than a 35mm sensor. Equipped with high-speed image processing engine X-Processor 5, allows filmmakers to capture rich, realistic images, while also offering greater flexibility in post-production. Its lightweight body of approximately 2.0 kg ensures mobility during recording, while offering consistent color and tone management for an efficient workflow from recording to editing. In addition, the equipment incorporates the Fujifilm “film simulation”, which allows users to achieve a wide variety of color tones, as if changing photographic film.

To delve deeper into this solution, on Saturday, December 13 at 12:15 p.m., Juan A. Fernandez, director of AFFILM (Afilm International Film Workshops, the international film school in Sitges, Barcelona) and director of Photography, together with Marc Cattrall, Cinema Business Development Manager of Fujifilm Germany, will discuss the camera, as well as its performance in professional shoots.

During the MicroSalón, attendees will also be able to see first-hand the opticians Duvo24-300 and Duvo25-1000; series optics Cabrio (14-35 mm, 19-90 mm 85-300 mm y 25-300 mm); Premista (19-45 mm, 28-100 mm and 80-250 mm T2.9-3.5), created for large format sensors, and the MK (MK18-55 mm T2.9 and MK50-135 mm T2.9), distinguished by their high optical performance and low distortion at T2.9 speed throughout the zoom range.

In the field of storage, the data cartridge LTO Ultra 10 Fujifilm will also be present at MicroSalón AEC 2025 offering a native capacity of 30 terabytes per tape and up to 75 TB compressed (with a compression ratio of 2.5:1). These figures represent an increase of 68.5% compared to the previous generation LTO-9, with 15,104 data tracks, which allows reducing the space required for storage.

Fujifilm LTO Ultrium 10Fujifilm LTO-10 data cartridges incorporate the latest technological advances in magnetic tape data coating achieved by the Japanese company, by using the hybrid nanocubic technology of fine magnetic particles Strontium Ferrite (SrFe) and Barium Ferrite (BaFe), which is used for the first time in the manufacture of LTO tapes. The latest generation SrFe magnetic particles will progressively replace the materials used to date for the manufacture of LTO tapes, such as Barium Ferrite (BaFe).

According to Anna Baldris, recording media manager from Fujifilm Spain and Portugal: “New capture technologies, better camera resolutions such as 4K and the use of virtual reality have only increased the size of videos, requiring storage solutions with higher recording densities, more reliable and at a reasonable cost, such as those offered by the Fujifilm LTO Ultrium 10 data cartridges, launched this year.”
