Pro Tools (Avid) updates to version 2025.12: immersive audio, improvements in Soundflow, AI...

Avid continues to focus on improving Pro Tools with the collaboration of top-level partners with its version 2025.12, which includes improvements such as new compatibility with immersive mixing thanks to Audio Vivid from the UHD World Association (UWA), an enhanced SoundFlow functionality with Bounce Factory Integrated Lite and new rewards Inner Circle Aimed at innovative partners who develop plugins and content.

Pro Tools now offers native compatibility with Vivid Audio, the world's “first AI-based immersive audio codec standard.” Developed by the UWA, Audio Vivid gives creators the ability to precisely position and move sound objects in three-dimensional space, providing immersive experiences while preserving the intent of the mix in any playback environment, from headphones to multi-speaker setups.

Pro Tools Studio and Ultimate users can access Audio Vivid through Audio Vivid Production Suite, allowing mixing and rendering directly within the Pro Tools session. With support for multiple immersive mixes in a single project, users will be able to quickly mix and edit in various formats and deliver them for various creative applications, from film, television and music, to home theater systems and in-vehicle entertainment systems.

Bounce Factory: a collaboration in development

Bounce Factory, of Andrew Scheps, the industry standard for bouncing mixes, stems and deliverables, becomes fully integrated with Pro Tools via SoundFlow. Available as Bounce Factory Lite, the tool appears directly in the editing window, giving all users access to the fastest mix delivery workflows.

This development builds on Avid's partnership with SoundFlow, which earlier this year brought more than 1,700 free pre-built macros and AI support to Pro Tools, enabling the automation of repetitive actions such as stem bouncing, track creation, and session navigation.

Inner Circle continues to grow

The program Inner Circle offers annual Pro Tools subscribers and perpetual license holders with active plans free access to plugins, sounds, and more. This release adds four new rewards from innovative partners, offering customers new ways to process audio, decode Ambisonic content, and create with MIDI.

• Audio Brewers – ab Decoder HOA Express- Decode Ambisonics to stereo, 5.1 or 7.1.2 formats without setup.
• Axart Labs – AutoBeat Lite- AI-powered MIDI rhythm engine for real-time pattern activation and groove configuration.
• Safari Pedals – Time Machine- Emulation of iconic tones from the '50s to '80s using vintage-style filters, saturation, and Lo-Fi samples.
• Wave Alchemy – Triaz Player + Avid Select Expansion- Create drum tracks with over 8,000 premium samples, 375 presets and exclusive Avid tones.

Additionally, Pro Tools continues to expand its unrivaled partners with new integrations WE BUY, introducing more third-party tools that reduce musical and post-production workflows by hours, working directly on the timeline. These new plug-ins include:

• Voice Wonder- Hyper-realistic speech synthesis (TTS/STS) with ultra-low latency rendering, support for 74 languages, and one-click noise removal.
• SEE- High fidelity voice filter that converts instruments to voices or vice versa, preserving pitch, timing and emotion.
• Vovious- Natural-sounding vocal tuning and color-coded display to indicate deviations from correct pitch, with multitrack support and immediate adaptation to arrangement changes.

Pro Tools 2025.12 is now available to all Pro Tools Artist, Studio and Ultimate customers with active subscriptions and perpetual licenses on a current plan, plus Pro Tools Intro users.
