Atomos makes the definitive leap into high-end monitoring with the purchase of Flanders Scientific
The acquisition of Flanders Scientific, an American manufacturer of professional monitoring solutions, ratifies the strategy of atoms of betting on precision monitoring throughout the production process: from camera capture to post-production and final delivery.
The purchase of Flanders Scientific will allow Atomos to support “the more segment alto" of the professional monitor market. Its widely accepted solutions are used by post-production companies, broadcasters and major content studios around the world.
Flanders Scientific will continue to operate as a independent brand within the family atoms. There will be no changes to its product philosophy or engineering approach. In this way, the company will continue to offer monitoring on camera with range Shinobi and the family Ninja of monitor-recorders; monitoring on set with the range Sumo, and rack-mounted solutions for broadcast and corporate workflows with the line Shogun OFF.
On another level, the purchase agreement reinforces the Atomos global support and distribution capabilities. With expanded infrastructure and a greater regional presence, Atomos will be able to better serve customers in markets that “have historically been harder to reach.”
Peter Barber, executive director of atoms, emphasizes that the acquisition reinforces its commitment “to the monitoring at all levels“By combining FSI's expertise with our global scale and innovation, we are creating something truly unique for the sector. Just as importantly, we are committed to preserving what makes Flanders Scientific special. The brand, philosophy and engineering approach will remain unchanged, while benefiting from the support and reach of the Atomos organization as a whole,” he explains.
