Sky News Australia: transition to a cloud-first model with AMPP (Grass Valley)
Grass Valley deploys the AMPP cloud solution on the Australian News Channel (ANC) Sky News Australia, providing journalists and production operators with browser-based editing, remote production capabilities and scalable broadcast capabilities.
AMPP replaces a legacy system with a production architecture cloud-based that allows more than 250 journalists, editors and producers collaborate through workflows browser-based. The system, now in operation, manages more than 1,500 hours of content every week through traditional and digital broadcast platforms.
In this way, journalists can create and edit content directly in a web browser, eliminating dependence on physical workstations and accelerating production workflows.
Jon Wilson, CEO of Grass Valley, takes stock of a deployment that points to a more flexible and offshore future of broadcast environments: "Carrying out a complete transformation of the newsroom together with the relocation of the headquarters is a complex challenge. ANC took a clear and strategic approach: moving to an integrated software-defined model that offers greater flexibility, scalability and resilience across its operations. This project reflects our long collaboration and our shared commitment to modernizing news operations and live production."
