A cardiac arrest suddenly ends with one of the most brilliant entrepreneurs in the broadcast and media industry.

Sam Blackman, one of the more prominent leaders of the broadcast technology scene and CEO of AWS Elemental, has died at the age of 41. Blackman just opened a new Portland office for AWS Elemental last week and was planning business trips for the next few weeks, including IBC.

Portland native transformed Oregon’s Silicon Forest by founding in 2006 alongside Brian Lewis and Jesse Rosenzweig Elemental Technologies. 同社はインターネットビデオのコーディングと送信の先駆者であり、2015 年に巨大企業 Amazon に 2 億 9,600 万ドルで買収され、その結果 AWS Elemental (アマゾン ウェブ サービスに統合) が誕生しました。
