Media World, the American division of the Mediapro group, has reached an agreement with the Hemisphere Media group for the sale of three pay television channels in Spanish in the US market. The success achieved by the three channels created by Media World means that their growth possibilities depend on their integration into a framework with greater reach, both territorially and potential audience, such as the Hemisphere group. There is no doubt that countless synergies and economies of scale will emerge from its integration into the Spanish-language cable television giant in the USA. Media World will continue to produce the channel's content and provide all the necessary technical services.
The operation includes the channels: Pasiones, with more than 11 million subscribers, dedicated to the broadcast of soap operas and series; Central America TV, with 3.3 million subscribers and Dominican TV, with 2.2 million subscribers, both generalists. The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2014.
