SimplyLive Multiviewer

Simplylive continues to provide innovative solutions for production with the release of the Web-Multiviewer platform that offers low latency, web browser video and audio multiviewers.

Simplylive Web-Multiviewer brings easy setup and distribution for all video and audio feeds to local and/or remotely located users that can be deployed on premises with traditional hardware appliances, in private data centers or on public cloud instances.

The Web-Multiviewer has been part of the ViBox production platform with integrated multiviewer layouts available for all production staff within the ViBox environment. This powerful multiviewer has now been expanded as a standalone solution for any multiviewer applications. As more and more feeds and programming content is being created in remote environments with users at venues, back at the broadcast center or elsewhere, Simplylive changes the game with the ability to offer high quality, web browser multiviewers with limited hardware and investment costs.

“Our Web-Multiviewer platform adds the next step in our production solutions that fortifies our philosophy towards economical, software-based innovation that build towards the future,” notes Luc Doneux, Managing Director of Simplylive. “We are working towards our full live production platform that can be deployed anywhere, with all the software tools required to move away from the traditional costly, hardware driven models towards a fully flexible solution on private or public cloud platforms.”

Microservices architecture

The Simplylive Web-Multiviewer platform is composed of microservices architecture that offers ultimate flexibility and scalability allowing these microservices to be split and installed across multiple instances. The multiviewer integrates input sources in various format like SDI, 2110, NDI (w/wo alpha), SRT, RTP, RTMP, TS-UDP for the video and embedded in SDI, 2110, NDI, SRT, RTP, TS-UDP or in discreet AES67 or Dante streams for the audio.

On-air tally and UMD channel identification are also integrated through TSL5 protocol. This solution is powerful but simple to implement with web browser configuration that can be managed from anywhere.

The individual video and audio sources processed in the system can be allocated and monitored in any defined multiviewer output. The multiviewer layouts are fully user-definable through various templates that are configured within the web browser configuration tool. There is no technical limitation on the number of layouts and outputs that can be created with the Web-Multiviewer. The capability and power are managed by the web server capability and the network infrastructure. Benefited by the WebRTC capability, the multiviewer layouts can be viewed on any PC, mobile phone, tablet or connected screen through the local IT network or through the web.

As security is an essential topic in IT infrastructure, the Web-Multiviewer is built with all guarantees required by industry specialists. These requirements include encryption for all audio and video signals as well as features of IP Whitelist, IP Blacklist and waiting room option to offer state-of-the-art capability in terms of security and accessibility.
