Disguise gx 3

Gx 3, the latest generative video playout server from disguise, is presented as the brand’s ultimate solution for the live entertainment arena.

Whether it’s for a concert tour, a small- to medium-scale extended reality production, an eSports competition or a theme park attraction, the gx 3 aims to give live event professionals everything they need to create more immersive experiences than ever before. Thanks to the advanced processing power of the NVIDIA A6000 GPU, the gx 3 is capable of generating more than 53,000 Notchmarks – the “highest” output from a media server to date, according to disguise. This processing power allows users to unlock new possibilities in generative content, such as face tracking, simulation and buffering effects, or even AI background removal for IMAG. The new machine has already attracted the attention of the worldwide community of disguise users and partners, with companies such as All Of It Now, Fuse, Solotech, Colonel Tom Touring, VideoDesign, Lang UK, QED, MooTV, ArkVentures and TOEI among its early users.

Gx 3 includes a two-year Notch license as standard. In addition, owners will also have access to two Notch blocks designed exclusively for testing on the new machine. Video playback and 4K xR compositing performance has been significantly improved over the gx 2c model thanks to the inclusion of state-of-the-art components such as a new PCIe 4.0 motherboard, a next-generation CPU and far greater storage capacity. The disguise solution also features three 12G inputs for 4K video and three 4K VFC card outputs, resulting in increased video performance while preparing for future live show requirements. Moreover, the gx 3 includes two 100GbE network ports as standard.

Raed Al Tikriti, product manager at disguise, conveys that the demand for complex generative video content was the reason behind the brand’s decision to create the gx 3, a media server capable of “reliably support real-time graphics at low levels of latency.” “This inspired us to develop our most versatile and flexible single-box solution yet. The gx 3 will enhance and support productions across any application, from live events to location-based experiences to xR, as users continue to push the boundaries of the possible,” stresses Al Tikriti.
