Colour (Grup Mediapro) adopts DaVinci Resolve as its editing and colour grading solution

Beyond using DaVinci Resolve (Blackmagic Design) as a colour correction tool, an area in which it has a consolidated position in the industry, the post-production arm of Grup Mediapro in Uruguay and Argentina, Colour, has implemented the software in editing, VFX and audio post-production tasks in projects for clients such as Amazon Prime, Disney+, Netflix and ViX.

Founded in 2014 by Germán Nocella and Daff Schneydher, Colour has been part of Grup Mediapro since 2024. The post-production studio offers tailor-made solutions combining creativity, cutting-edge technology and a highly experienced team of more than fifteen colourists, mastering engineers, post-production coordinators, editing assistants and technical specialists.

Between fiction projects, documentaries, series and commercials for major streaming platforms, Colour can handle the post-production of seven or more projects simultaneously, all of which are processed in DaVinci Resolve Studio. «We rely heavily on DaVinci Resolve Studio for its versatility and ability to seamlessly integrate multiple stages of the post-production process into a single platform. It has allowed us to optimise and improve collaboration between our colourists, editors and post-production coordinators, reducing turnaround times and ensuring technical consistency between our Montevideo and Buenos Aires offices, as well as compliance with film and OTT standards,» explains Schneydher.

Colour’s headquarters are located in Montevideo, Uruguay, in the Reducto audiovisual centre, and it also has a complementary colour grading suite in Buenos Aires, Argentina. This deployment allows the company to offer comprehensive services on both sides of the Río de la Plata, either through its main infrastructure in Montevideo, which includes five HDR/SDR and online rooms, where mastering and general coordination are carried out, or in Buenos Aires, which has a fully equipped colour grading room. In both studios, to further strengthen the company’s operations, Colour has several DaVinci Resolve Mini Panel devices, a Blackmagic Videohub 20×20 12G matrix, SmartView 4K monitors, and DeckLink Mini Monitor 4K and DeckLink 8K Pro capture and playback cards.
