Between November 23 and 28, and within the framework of the Cuenca City International Film Week, a selection of the best films made by women will be screened during the event, which is consolidating itself as a reference festival.

Mujeres en direcciónThe Cuenca City International Film Week, is finalizing preparations to kick off the fourth edition of “Women in Direction”, a well-known competition that addresses the most committed and social cinema from the expert eye of women. Cuenca will be the headquarters of the festival once again, a city that has been involved in past editions, both for its attendance at the screenings and for its participation in the various workshops launched.

The quality of its cinema is thus corroborated by the films awarded throughout its editions, which have subsequently achieved great success from the public, specialized critics and renowned festivals. It is worth highlighting the winners of the last edition, where the award for best film went to the German film by Doris Dörrie Cerezos en flor, released with great success in Spain last March and selected at the Valladolid International Film Week, while the title for best short film was awarded to Miente, by Isabel de Ocampo, which would win the Goya for Best Short Film in the last edition.
