The new Da Vinci Resolve R-360-3D reduces color correction costs by offering a system that is 30% below the price of previous stereoscopic grading systems.

Da Vinci R-360-3DDa Vinci Systems today presented Resolve R-360-3D, a new generation of its Resolve system designed for stereoscopic color correction. Powered by the C.O.R.E. (CUDA Optimized Resolve Engine) Nvidia's graphics processing unit (GPU), the R-360-Resolve enables 3D 30 fps with 2K playback with 3D display HD SDI output. At 30% below the cost of previous stereoscopic grading systems, the R-360-3D outperforms any 3D color grading system in its class, according to Da Vinci.

According to Gary Adams, product manager at da Vinci, the stereoscopic 3D market has taken off in the last nine years, with 94 feature films and short films produced. Almost 40 percent of these films have been released in the last year. Additionally, Hollywood's largest studios have announced plans to upgrade more than 20,000 2K projection systems in the United States. Adams considers that the Da Vinci R-360-3D proposal “is a post-production system with the capacity to perform stereoscopic grading in feature films, documentaries or advertising, along with the ability to reuse 2D visualization in 3D for Blu-ray films.”

One of the main advantages of Resolve R-360-3D is that it allows you to copy the degrees added to the timeline in a single operation, continuing the work in stereo. Resolve ColorTrace increases workflow performance and efficiency. Also included in the Da Vinci Resolve R-360-3D Business System is the control panel, a graphical user interface server with I/O capability, audio and video input/output, VTR control and a dual chassis system offering GUI monitor, keyboard and mouse.
