Sapec optimizes Canal Sur Radio's backbone transport network
After a first experience in the transport of signals on Canal Sur Radio between Cádiz and its provincial circuits, Sapec and APT now face the coding and decoding of the regional backbone network throughout Andalusia.
Canal Sur Radio has awarded Sapec the supply of audio encoders and decoders for the supply of audio encoders and decoders for the update and optimization of Canal Sur Radio's backbone transport network. This network that will unite the different headquarters of the Andalusian regional radio will use APT equipment, distributed in Spain by Sapec.
With this new project APT and Sapec renew the trust of Canal Sur since in 2006 they were in charge of deploying the first phase of this network, between Cádiz and its provincial circuits. Now, with this supply the aim is to cover the core network of all of Andalusia. In total, the new network will use 18 Oslo racks with redundant FA, and with a variable configuration of encoder cards, decoder cards, duplex cards, for IP and E1 transport with the possibility of automatic backup between networks, software for remote control..., thus giving an idea of the importance of the project.
APT, Irish coding
APT is an Irish company specialized in the transmission, storage and processing of very high quality audio on low capacity media. APT has patented the APT-X algorithm, which allows 4:1 compression, with a minimum delay of 1.9ms. This standard is recognized by industry professionals as providing lower encoding and decoding delay and better audio quality. New Enhanced APT-X24 algorithms reduce encoding delay. For example, APT-xLive is a new algorithm optimized for human voice transmission, which allows the compression ratio to be increased up to 8:1.
