After more than ten years on Digital+, previously Canal Satélite, the Méteo channel, produced by Activa Multimèdia, will be replaced by the new InfoMeteo powered by Sogecable as a technological partner and Brorrasca Initiatives Atmoféricas as a content provider.

Méteo

Starting in January, Digital+ will replace the weather channel Méteo, which until now was produced by Activa Multimèdia, in its programming with a new channel under the name InfoMeteo that will be produced by Sogecable itself with Borrasca Initiatives Atmosféricas as content provider. This company, headed by the popular meteorologist Florenci Rey, is dedicated to the generation, processing and dissemination of meteorological and climatological information for any type of company. Borrasca Atmospheric Initiatives, which has 2,500 data collection points in Spain, also supplies real-time information to numerous media outlets both as a content provider and through outsourcing of meteorological spaces.

The new channel that will broadcast 24 hours a day will be produced from the Sogecable facilities with the aim of providing InfoMeteo and other channels of the group such as Cuatro or CNN+.

Among other improvements, the new InfoMeteo will be born with a completely renewed graphic image, maintaining a strong multiplatform presence with support in portals, video channels, and other mobile devices.

Regarding Activa Multimèdia and Servicios Audiovisuales de Meteorología, subsidiaries of the Corporació Catalana de Mitjans Audiovisuals, after the disappearance of Méteo, they will continue to provide their meteorological information services to other platforms, including Internet and mobile, as well as offering the outsourcing of this type of spaces to national, regional or local chains.
