LEE launches a new range of six colors to obtain orange and mustard colors similar to those of sodium lamps used in street lighting.

Recreating the typical orange lighting of our cities on a shoot requires many hours to calibrate color temperatures and combine various sources, with the consequent loss of time. Now, LEE, distributed in Spain by Video Cine Import, has presented to the market a new range of six-color filters capable of faithfully reproducing the orange and musty light emitted by sodium lamps used in lighting most cities.

These new colors have been specifically designed to recreate the different types of urban lighting effects ranging from high and low pressure sodium, to the orange and mustard generally associated in the minds of all viewers with street lighting. This new range of products will be integrated into LEE's Arc Correction range under the heading 'Arc Correction and Effect Filters'.

These new filters comprise the following references: 642 Half Mustard Yellow (half the light effect of sodium resistance, designed for use with daylight sources), 643 Quarter Mustard Yellow (represents a quarter of the effect of light sodium, designed for use with daylight sources), 650 Industry Sodium (used in combination with tungsten for sodium light), 651 HI Sodium (used in tungsten to create a high sodium look pressure), 652 Urban Sodium (used in tungsten to create the orange glow associated with sodium light and 653 LO Sodium (used in tungsten to create low pressure sodium light effect).

New filters

LEE has also incorporated a new filter with reference 604 Full CT Eight Five that converts daylight (6500K) into tungsten (3200k) with a reddish touch. This filter also creates an orange effect similar to sodium when used on tungsten. LEE has also added to its catalog a new 439 Heavy Quiet Frost diffusion filter, added to the Flexi LEE Frost range, made of a material that makes very little noise when handled or used on shoots with a lot of wind. They are waterproof so they can be used outdoors and can be joined together for use on large racks.
