‘Cell 211’ Popara sixteen nominations for the Goya
Daniel Monzón's film starts as a favorite in the XXIV edition of the Goya Awards. The ceremony, conducted by Andreu Buenafuente, will take place on February 14 in Madrid
Cell 211, by Daniel Monzón and Agora, by Alejandro Amenábar, gather 16 and 13 candidacies, respectively, for the XXIV edition of the Goya Awards.
Cell 211 Opt the Best Film Awards, Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Original Music, Best Protagonist Actor (Luis Tosar), Best Distributed Actor (Carlos Bardem and Antonio Resines), Best Supporting Actress (María Etura), Best Revelation Actor (Alberto Ammann), Best Production Directorate, Best Photography, Best Assembly, Best Artistic Address, Best Makeup and/or Hairdresser, Best Sound and Better Sound Effects.
The Victoria Dance, by Fernando Trueba (9 nominations); Fatty, by Daniel Sánchez-Arévalo (8); The secret of his eyes, by Juan José Campanella (8); The Sodom Consul, by Sigfrid Monleón (5) and Broken hugs, by Pedro Almodóvar (5), are other films with more nominations.
The candidate tapes in the best film category are Ágora, Cell 211, The Victoria Dance and The secret of his eyes. Its directors, Alejandro Amenábar, Daniel Monzón, Fernando Trueba and Juan José Campanella, respectively, will also opt for the best director.
The Goya for the best original script will be disputed After, Agora, Fat and Broken hugs, and to the best adapted script: Cell 211, The Victoria dance, the consultation of Sodoma and The secret of his eyes.
David Planell (The shame), Borja Cobeaga (Pagafantas), Mar Coll (Three days with the family) and Antonio Naharo and Álvaro Pastor (Me too) aspire to the best novel director.
As for the most ambitious Spanish production of all time, Planet 51, you will have to settle for two nominations: Best original song and best animated film.
Finally, note that the popular nominee party will take place at the Royal Post Office of Madrid on January 23. The delivery ceremony will be at the Municipal Congresses Palace in Madrid on February 14. The director and screenwriter Antonio Mercero will receive the Honor Goya.
