'Snow White' garners 18 Goya nominations

Pablo Berger's film is the favorite for the Goya Awards with 18 nominations, followed by 'Grupo 7' with 16 and 'The Impossible', with 14.

Goyas 2013The actors Elena Anaya and Antonio de la Torre announced the nominees for the Goya Awards this morning at the headquarters of the Film Academy in Madrid. snow white is the favorite for these awards with 18 nominations, followed by Group 7 with 16 and Impossible, con 14.

The 2013 Goya Awards gala will be presented by comedian Eva Hache and will be held at the Príncipe Felipe Auditorium on February 17 and will be broadcast on TVE's La 1.

Nominees

  • Best direction: Pablo Berger, Fernando Trueba, Alberto Rodríguez and J.A. Bayonne.
  • Best film: The Impossible, The Artist and the Model, Snow White and Group 7.
  • Best animated film: The heart of the oak, the adventures of Tadeo Jones, O Apóstolo and The wish fish
  • Best cinematography: Snow White, The Artist and the Model, Group Seven, The Impossible.
  • Best fiction short: The One Who Wasn't Me, The Wedding, Ojos que no ven and Voice Over.
  • Best Documentary Short: A Story for the Modlins, The Violinist of Austwitch, The Widows of Ifni and A Filmmaker in the Quail.
  • Best animated short: Alfred and Anna, The Humor Salesman, The Hand of Nefertiti and Why the Dinosaurs Disappeared.
  • Best sound: The artist and the model, Grupo Siete, Invasor, The impossible.
  • Best New Actor: Emilio Gavira, Joaquin Nuñez, Tom Holand and Àlex Monner.
  • Best New Actress: Macarena García, for Blancanieves, Carmina Barrio, for 'Carmina o Revienta', Katy Solivellas, for 'The Wild Children', and Estefanía Santos, for Grupo Siete.
  • Best Editing: Snow White, The Artist and the Model, Group 7, Invader, The Impossible.
  • Artistic direction: Snow White, The Artist and the Model, Group Seven, The Impossible.
  • Best Documentary Film: Against Time, Children of the Clouds, Last Colony, The Subtle Worlds, Map.
  • Best supporting actress: Ángela Molina, María León, Chus Lampreave and Candela Peña.
  • Best European film: Of Rust and Bone, In the House, Untouchable and Shame.
  • Best Ibero-American film: 7 boxes, After Lucía, Clandestine Childhood and Juan de los Muertos.
  • Best Original Music: Blancanieves, Grupo 7, The Adventures of Tadeo Jones and The Impossible
  • Best original song: Blancanieves, Els Nens Salvatges, La Banda Picasso and The Adventures of Tadeo Jones.
