Spanish Television monopolizes the nominations for best film ('The Author', 'Verano 1993', 'Handía', 'The Bookstore' and 'Veronica') and best director ('The Author', 'Handía', 'The Bookstore' and 'Veronica').

The tapes participated by RTVE They gather a total of 63 nominations in the 32nd edition of the Goya Awards and monopolize the nominations for best film: 'The Author', 'Verano 1993', 'Handía', 'The Bookstore' and 'Veronica', as well as for best director. Bárbara Lennie and David Verdaguer were in charge this Wednesday at the Film Academy headquarters of announcing the nominees.

'Handía', by Aitor Arregi and Jon Garaño, with 13 nominations, leads the nominations: best film, director, breakthrough actor (Eneko Sagardoy), original script, production direction, photography, editing, artistic direction, costume design, makeup and hair, sound, special effects and original music.

'The Bookstore', by Isabel Coixet, brings together 12: Best film, direction, leading actress (Emily Mortimer), supporting actor (Bill Nighy), adapted screenplay, photography, production direction, original music, original song, editing, artistic direction and costume design.

'The Author', by Manuel Martín Cuenca, brings together 9, for best film, direction, leading actor (Javier Gutiérrez), supporting actress (Adelfa Calvo), supporting actor (Antonio de la Torre), revelation actress (Adriana Paz), adapted script, original song, sound.

'Summer 1993', by Carla Simón, part with 8, for best film, novel direction, supporting actor (David Verdaguer), revelation actress (Bruna Cusí), original script (Carla Simón), photography, production direction and editing.

'Verónica' by Paco Plaza, with 7 nominations, is a candidate for best film, direction, breakthrough actress (Sandra Escacena), original screenplay, original music, sound and special effects.

'The Call' by Javier Ambrossi and Javier Calvo, has 5, for best new director, adapted screenplay (Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi), supporting actress (Anna Castillo and Belén Cuesta) and original song (La Llamada)

The nominations for RTVE are completed by 'Loving Pablo', by Fernando León de Aranoa, with Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem nominated for best actress and leading actor; ‘Zona Hostil’, by Adolfo Martínez, special effects and original song; ‘Uncertain Glory’, by Agustí Villaronga, for best adapted screenplay; ‘Amar’, by Esteban Crespo, best new actor, for Pol Monen; 'A fantastic woman', by Sebastián Lelio, for best Ibero-American film; 'Deep', by Julio Soto Gurpide, best animated film; and 'Cantábrico Los dominios del oso pardo', by Joaquín Gutiérrez Acha, for best documentary.

Next Saturday, February 3, La 1 will broadcast live the award ceremony for the 32nd edition of the Goya Awards, which on this occasion will be presented by comedians Joaquín Reyes and Ernesto Sevilla and in which actress Marisa Paredes will receive the Goya Honor Award.
