'The Author', 'The Wounds of the Wind' and 'The Exchange' stand out with a greater number of nominations in this meeting of Andalusian creators supported by the SGAE.

ASECAN 2018 Awards

The Association of Film Writers of Andalusia (ASECAN) has announced the nominations for the 2018 ASECAN Andalusian Cinema Awards, which are held with the Foundation of the General Society of Authors and Editors (SGAE) as an official collaborating entity.

Among the films that stand out for their number of nominations are The author, from Almeria Manuel Martín Cuenca with 9 nominations; and The wounds of the wind by Juan Carlos Rubio from Córdoba and The Exchange by Ignacio Nacho from Malaga with 6 nominations each.

In this edition of the ASECAN Awards, a total of 390 candidates have been submitted in the 23 categories called. By province, Seville is once again the province that presents the most candidates, with 192 (almost half, 49.23%), followed by Málaga with 76 (19.49%), Jaén with 34 (8.72%), Cádiz with 22 (5.64%), Córdoba with 21 (5.38%), Huelva with 19 (4.87%), Almería with 14 (4.87%) and Granada with 12 (3.08%).

The XXX Andalusian Film Awards Gala will be held on January 27, 2018 at the Lope de Vega Theater in Seville, with the official support of the SGAE Foundation, and the collaboration of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports and the collaboration of the ICAS (City Hall of Seville) and the AISGE Foundation (Artists, Performers Management Society), Unicaja Banking Foundation, EGEDA (Entity of Audiovisual Producers' Rights Management), AEDAVA, Heineken-Cruzcampo, Renfe and ASINPE (Official Advisory Office of ASECAN).
