IP contributions increase on TVE
Sapec will encode RTVE's IP video contributions between the Madrid, Mérida, Badajoz, Cáceres and Plasencia headquarters.
RTVE has awarded Sapec the supply, installation and commissioning of all the video coding equipment necessary to carry out video contributions over an IP network between the corporation's headquarters in Madrid, Mérida, Badajoz, Cáceres and Plasencia. Sapec equipment was already present at the RTVE headquarters, in the coding of contributions over PDH networks, although on this occasion they will carry out the coding of their contribution signals over IP networks.
The encoders and decoders to be supplied in this project belong to the well-known SIVAC 2000 family, designed and manufactured by Sapec that allows up to four encoder/decoder boards to be included in a 2RU chassis with redundant AC power supply and DC power.
The model to be supplied is the SIVAC 2200, MPEG-2 encoders/decoders with PAL and SDI input, 8 embedded audio, analog or AES/EBU, 4:2:2P@ML and MP@ML compression and simultaneous ASI and IP output interface.
The new IP interface of Sapec encoders has been a key factor in the award of the project. This new IP interface includes error protection tools, FEC and allows transmission to two different unicast or multicast destinations with different FEC configuration.
Also included is the new FastIPsync technology, which eliminates transmission and reception jitter, thus drastically reducing the encoding and decoding delay; This being one of the lowest on the market (about 140ms). It also allows real-time measurement of network quality.
RTVE will carry out the control and configuration of all the equipment through the management software developed by Sapc SIVAC NMS, which allows total control in real time of all the equipment on the network.
