Quicklink StudioEdge I'm a Celebrity: Unpacked

‘I’m a Celebrity: Unpacked’, formato interactivo de ITV Studios based on debates and connections with stars of British reality shows of yesterday and today, has opted for QuickLink StudioEdge to handle connections from platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams or QuickLink StudioCall.

With in-studio debates, roundtables, and remote contributions from former chamber mates and other notable figures, I’m a Celebrity: Unpacked has become one of the most talked about entertainment programs of the year. This production of Lifted Entertainment needed, from the beginning, a solution that would allow it to manage the remote contributions, thus dispensing with expensive traditional connections. After exploring the market, Roy Heath-Callow, who during this phase served as technical director of ITV Studios, decided to implement Quickling's StudioEdge.

"For many years we have had to rely on the collaborator to travel to a studio and connect to a two-way satellite, which was resource-intensive, expensive and offered limited flexibility. In recent years, alternative platforms have been tried, but they often tied collaborators to specific software or systems, which complicated workflows and reduced adaptability in live broadcast environments," explains Heath-Callow, who decided to include calls from platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams o QuickLink StudioCall.

This flexibility allowed the production team to adapt to the platform preferences of remote collaborators while simplifying technical setup: “Through a web-based user portal on a separate control PC, the production team could easily select the preferred platform and have a remote guest connected in a matter of minutes,” Furthermore, from its user interface Web-based, the ITV team can enhance video and audio for remote guests by leveraging AI technology from Nvidia: “This ensures impeccable clarity for Zoom, Microsoft Teams and StudioCall users, even when network conditions are not optimal,” adds Heath-Callow.
