Wohler updates its AMP1-16-3G and AMP2-16 audio monitors
With new menu, mixing, control and display options, Wohler updates its line of flagship monitors for live audio applications.
Wohler Technologies has incorporated new functions and menu options into its AMP1-16-3G and AMP2-16 Series 16 audio monitor series that will provide greater functionality for multichannel monitoring. Among other advantages, they now improve access to audio levels and their configuration, also adding the possibility of live mixing on the AMP2-16 and more powerful control and control functions. All this allows greater flexibility in control in complex transmission operations.
Available with redundant power supplies and the new Free Mix mode, the AMP2-16 reduces reliance on traditional audio mixing consoles. When equipped with AES or analog output cards, the AMP2-16 in Free Mix mode supports mixing and outputting any combination of channels. Through an intuitive setup menu, users can easily control levels, mix multiple input channels to output channels, and set all control panel options. These mixes can be performed independently of the audio control function, while the AMP2-16 can be used to monitor the measurement of audio levels by controlling the result of the mix.
The Channel Trim control can be used to adjust the output level of each source at the output of the channel(s). This feature, with direct button access, gives you the ability to instantly access and control the mix output levels of any set of AES or analog output channels. These channels can now be assigned as sources in the monitor menu, giving the operator the ability to monitor based on visual and audible results, along with the selected input channels.
Dolby support
A new option in the Dolby menu allows AMP1-E16-3G users to activate Dolby E or Dolby Digital only, or automatically switch to pulse code modulation (PCM) if there is no Dolby bitstream in the signal. Both units, along with the AMP2-16, feature a new delay audio menu option that allows operators to add 0 to 170 ms of delay, allowing them to monitor the audio in real time as it is played by compensating for delays on the LCD monitors. The hardware options menu has been updated to simplify setting the analog output to reference level.
Up to 16 channels of AMP1-16-3G can be selected for simultaneous viewing and tracking on an easily user-configurable OLED screen. The volume measurement in the AMP1-16-3G and AMP1-E16-3G has been improved to be displayed graphically with a bar spanning the group on which the volume is calculated.
