Wohler AMP1-16-3G audio-video monitors in VRT
The Belgian broadcaster VRT has integrated Wholer's AMP1-16-3G audio and video monitors with capacity for sixteen Dolby channels in its new SNG units.
Wholer has carried out the first delivery, through the Diginet integrator, of the AMP1-16-3G audio and video monitor with the capacity to monitor sixteen Dolby channels and specially designed for HD environments at Flemish Radio Television in Belgium (VRT). VRT thus becomes the first company to implement this 3G and Dolby monitor equipped with three high-performance OLED screens capable of displaying source video and advanced control of 16 audio channels simultaneously in just one rack unit. The unit has been installed in the network's largest HD SNG units commonly used for multichannel productions.

Depending on VRT operational requirements, the third screen can display the video or data source, as well as active help configuration controls. To make it easier for the operator to maintain acceptable audio volume levels throughout the entire production, the monitor can also display remote warnings or alerts when signals drop in violation of the ITU-1770/1771 standard. With an unprecedented contrast ratio and low power consumption, the AMP1-16-3G is ideal for both performance and profitability.
Marnix Van de Kauter, project manager for VRT, said the Wohler AMP1-16-3G is ideal for audio and video control in a high-definition environment. “We decided to incorporate the drive into our first SD drive not only for its functionality and compact design, but also for its 3G compatibility which provides a valuable foundation for the growth and development of our production and broadcast capabilities.”
