With Fujinon HD 17x optics, the new HPX-370/371 camcorder has three high-sensitivity, low-noise 1/3 MOS sensors, offering 1920x1080 native resolution with Full HD native recording thanks to the AVC-Intra format, a codec with 4:2:2 sampling at 10 bits.

The AVC-Intra at 100Mbps with which the new Panasonic HPX-371 camcorder (HPX-370 in America) works is a format that offers more color information with reduced compression and great possibilities in post-production. Manufactured with three 1/3-inch MOS sensors with high sensitivity and low noise, and with a Fujinon 17x optic as standard, it allows the user to freely choose the recording format that best suits the needs of each project, being able to work in DV, DVCPRO, DVCPRO50 and in HD in DVCPROHD and AVC-Intra. In high definition, it is possible to choose between 1080 and 720, at 50 or 60 Hz.

With a 4:2:2 sampling and its three 1/3” MOS sensors it is now possible to have a very high sensitivity in 1920x1080 resolution thanks to the use of Ultra Luminance Technology (ULT), with practically negligible noise levels with a very stable signal for this range of cameras even at F10 ranges.

Analog-digital processing in Progressive Advanced Processing (PAP) quantization, which is carried out at 20 capture bits, contributes decisively to this signal robustness. According to Panasonic, the use of ULT technology increases the performance of the sensors, rivaling the image quality and sensitivity of 1/2" sensors. In addition, thanks to the P.A.P., and its 3D adaptive processing, it is possible to have a progressive level of sensitivity characteristic of the interlaced mode.

Thanks to the pN (native progressive) recording mode, you can record at a frame rate below or above 25p, achieving fast motion or slow motion effects with up to 20 different speeds, between 12 and 50fps (in 720p recording mode).

As for the compression ratio, the camera allows you to work in DV, DVCPRO, DVCPRO50, DVCPROHD and AVC-Intra 50 and 100, with wide frame rates selectable in interlaced, progressive, slow motion... Working with AVC-Intra 100 compression at 720pn and 24p, for example, you could record, in the two P2 slots that the camera has, up to about 320 minutes.

The camera, in addition to the two P2 slots, has one for SD cards that allows saving or loading scene files and user settings, as well as recording proxy data (requires AJ-YAX800G Proxy Video Encoder Card) for easy transmission of raw images over wired or wireless networks.
