JustAd Tv will be presented for the first time at IBC 2010 to present its solutions designed to help television providers monetize their video on demand services, PVR and other non-linear television applications based on an embedded and interactive advertising concept.
Founded in 2008, this company has focused on client-served developments based on JavaOne and available for MHP, HbbTv, MHEG-5, IPTV (Linux and Browser) and OpenTv.
Based on the fact that most VoD platforms do not support the inclusion of spots as a whole and that skipping advertising blocks is a common norm for 75% of personal video recorder users, JustAd Tv has proposed a series of alternatives that avoid the bad image that disabling the “FF” function gives or the little flexibility that pre-rolls provide (in one hour, you can hardly fit more than 25-20 spots).
The interesting proposal of this Israeli company is based on extrapolating the concept of the Internet to a television environment. For television providers (cable, IPTV...) it would mean greater monetization of VoD and PVR content, an improvement in communication with their customers, cross-promotion of content and products and taking advantage of a non-linear television concept.
For broadcatsers, this new concept of embedded advertising would mean monetizing VoD/Catch-up content in iPlayer applications, establishing a direct communication channel with their viewers, directing the consumption of content and services in a more advantageous way and introducing interactivity in non-intrusive advertising.
Among the options that this end-to-end system allows for the introduction of pre-roll in on-demand content, the inclusion of all types of banners respecting the content. For example, when the user stops the video they are watching or selects fast forward sequences, the system sends a banner to their STB or PVR that can present very different formats. These advertising messages are directed to each user individually.
The JustAd Tv system is already being experimented with great success on Sky Italia.
Here Some interactive examples of embedded advertising are shown, the live demonstration of which will take place in the JustAd TV space in the Israel pavilion at IBC 2010.
