Directed by Tom Fernández and co-produced by Versátil Cinema and Alta Produccion, 'What's the Use of a Bear?' will be the film in charge of opening the 14th edition of the Malaga Spanish Film Festival. Filming took place last fall, over six weeks, between Asturias and Iceland.

Starring Javier Cámara, Gonzalo de Castro, Emma Suárez and Geraldine Chaplin, the new film by Tom Fernández (The Tower of Suso), ¿What is a bear for??, has been chosen to open the 14th edition of the Malaga Spanish Film Festival. It will participate in the Official Competition Section of said festival.

Javier Cámara (Let the ugly die, the blind sunflowers) and Gonzalo de Castro (Doctor Mateo, Rivals) are the protagonists of this comedy, joined by Emma Suárez (Heroes, My father's house), Geraldine Chaplin (The werewolf, The inner island), Oona Chaplin (Imago Mortis, Inconceivable) y Jesse Johnson (Head Over Spurs In Love, Circle of Eight).

The director, accompanied by the leading actors, will go to present the film in Malaga on Saturday, March 26. It is the first time that Tom Fernández participates in the Malaga Film Festival.

Co-produced by Versátil Cinema and Alta Produccion, filming took place last fall, over six weeks, between Asturias and Iceland.

The Asturian locations in which the film was filmed were: Somiedo, Quirós, San Martín, Fresnedo, Puerto de Maravío, Vigidel and Villar.

TVE and Televisió de Catalunya participate in the film, which also has the collaboration of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Government of the Principality of Asturias, the Camín Real de la Mesa Tourist Product Promotion Plan and the Film Commission of the Principality of Asturias.

The film, which will be released on April 1, will be distributed by Alta Classics.
