Datavideo expands its portfolio
The SE-3000 switcher, teleprompters that use iPhones and iPads and hard drive video recorders are some of the new features that Datavideo has incorporated into its catalog of solutions.
One of the proposals that is attracting the most attention to Datavideo clients are its new telepromters that, taking advantage of iPhones and iPads, allow for a simple, lightweight… and economical text reading system. To do this, Apple devices are loaded with software specially developed by Datavideo that offers with this proposal a solution that is very easy to assemble and operate.
The software controls the speed of the texts displayed, allowing forward, backward and jump to a given point.
This is possible thanks to the use of the control cable that is supplied with the kit and that can be controlled by the reporter himself. It is also possible to write the text and send via WiFi or any other wireless way. In both cases, the chassis is also included to attach mobile devices to the cameras.
Recording on hard disk
As for hard drive recorders, Datavideo has several versions for high definition (HDR-40/HDR-50), SD (DN-400/DN-500) and even using solid state with Compact Flash cards (DN-60).
The HDR-40 model is compatible with recordings in both SD and HD and uses a hard drive, being indicated for small recordings, camera tests and other applications.
In situations like these, the signal goes from the camera to the HDR-40 via an HD-SDI cable, recording in 1080i, 720p, 576i or 480i formats, with bit rates ranging from 5 to 60 Mbps, generating *.m2t files (with color sampling at 4:2:0).
For monitoring it has an HD-SDI signal loop and an HDMI port. It is also possible to connect two balanced stereo audio cables, in a recording where the audio is sent to a table, for example.
When you finish recording, simply remove the 250 GB hard drive and connect it to any PC or Mac, via USB 2, Fire-Wire or eSATA to transfer and edit the files. This recording unit can be controlled using RS-422, RS-232 and GPI interfaces.
SE-3000
The star in the new Datavideo catalog is the new SE-3000 production switcher. It is at the top of the line of switchers that begins with the small SE-500 and seeks to serve all levels of customers and budgets.
This version has 16 HD/SD inputs and 8 HD/SD outputs, working with 10-bit 4:2:2:4 video processing. All inputs have a frame synchronizer and eight of them can convert signals from SD to HD.
On the panel, which is quite clean and has well-identified buttons, you can activate more than 40 transition patterns and 80 visual effects (DVE), as well as two DSK channels, two Picture in Picture channels and one M/E.
In addition, it has a touch screen to adjust most functions, and a multiviewer can even be created directly using a DVI port.
